The Chevy Silverado has many designs and models for you to choose from, depending on your needs. From the basic work truck model through the High Country with its refined comfort, Chevrolet has a design and model for you. Read on to learn about what the 2019 model has to offer.
The New Durabed
One of the new features on the Silverado is Chevy’s new Durabed. No other pickup truck has a bed that is this functional. The bed is built from high-strength steel that is roll-formed for durability. The box has the most cargo of any pickup truck and the first power up and down tailgate. The electronically controlled tailgate may be operated from in the cabin, at the gate or via the key fob.
It also features 12 fixed tie downs that are each rated for up to 500 pounds. The corner step bumper is also standard equipment on all models. The foot wells are large enough to accommodate work boots. Additionally, an optional 120-volt outlet and LED rear task lights are available.
The LT Trail Boss trim level features a 5.3-liter V8 engine with dynamic fuel management that makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The engine is backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. This combination features auto stop and start technology.
Depending on the trim level and available options for each trim level, you could choose from six different engine options, including a 6.2-liter V8 with dynamic fuel management and a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine.
Chevrolet includes dynamic fuel management as standard equipment on all of its 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter engines. Dynamic fuel management is an industry first that features 17 cylinder modes to give the driver the best power and efficiency combinations for the terrain.
If you have a pickup truck, chances are you’re going to tow something. Whether it’s a boat, an RV or a horse trailer, you could add the advanced trailering package and trailering camera package to stay confident and safe while you are towing.
The advanced trailering package includes an app that monitors the trailer tire pressure and has theft alert. Additional features include hitch guidance with hitch view, trailer light test, lighting for the hitch area and automatic electric parking brake assist. The trailering package is standard on the LTZ and High Country trim levels and available on the LT, LT Trail Boss and RST trim levels.
The trailering camera package includes a hitch view camera, side view cameras and an extra port for an accessory camera. The trailering camera package is not standard on any trim level and is available only on the LTZ and High Country trim levels.
